Engage is a charity whose aim is to support the development of vibrant, effective and influential voluntary and community organisations in West Somerset and Taunton Deane. It does this by providing a range of services including its Volunteer Centre; guidance and support for charities; funding advice; and regular voluntary sector forums. Engage also acts as a voice for the local voluntary and community sector.
Engage is responsible for recruiting and supporting the volunteers who will be working with the Carers Agents in Taunton Deane and West Somerset.

The Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Carers Service supports Carers by running a one to one befriending service. We are looking for volunteers willing to befriend carers to offer support and friendship as sometimes carers of people with mental health issues are often isolated, lonely or in crisis.

People affected by dementia sometimes feel lonely or isolated. You can help by joining
our befriending service in the Chard, Ilminster and Crewkerne area.
Become a trained volunteer to support the person with dementia to continue
to enjoy their hobbies, interests and practical tasks i.e. shopping, in the
community or at home.
