Carers Groups – In Person & Online!

You can meet other Carers for mutual support and friendship at one of the many groups running across Somerset. Please visit our Carers Hub page for information on groups in your area

Due to the COVID pandemic, there are many more online support group options available than ever before! See below and the sidebar for details.

SPARK SOMERSET  are partners with Somerset Carers, and co-ordinate Carers Groups across the county as well as the online groups.

You can download the most up-to-date list of Carers Groups below – find one near you!

We think it’s important for carers to take some time out and meet other people who really understand their situation.

If you would benefit from this but would struggle to attend a face-to-face meeting due to caring and/or work commitments, then why not join an online group? We want to celebrate the nontraditional mechanisms for respite, consciously taking time out for yourself as a Carer is so important for your health and mental well-being.

We meet via monthly via Zoom to chat, share information and hear from guest speakers.

Join us –

  • 7pm on the first Monday of the month
  • 11am on the third Monday of the month

They will have the same speaker at both, so you can attend the meeting that works best for you.  Or of course, you can join us for both.

Everyone is welcome and you can attend as many and as often as you like.

Please use this link to the Spark Somerset website to register for the group meeting

Joining online forums or groups around subjects that interest you, such as gardening, art and music, can provide welcome relief for carers and a chance to connect to others with shared interests.

Most of these online sanctuaries have the benefit of never closing – you can join in at a time to suit you, and it reduces the complications of finding someone to provide cover.
