Online Dementia training – Behaviour as a Form of Communication. Free online training via Zoom for Carers delivered by the NHS Dementia and Delirium Team.

3rd June – 11am – 3pm:

Ferne Animal Sanctuary tour and activities for Carers and the person they care for – meet the animals,  light refreshment and more. Free onsite parking.

4th June – 11am – 1pm:

Wild Memories Open Day for anyone living with Dementia and their Carer run by Frog Life. Step outside into nature this Carers Week! Click poster to view.

Frome’s Wild Memories project is a fun and easy-going weekly group for anyone living with Dementia and their families – with art and crafts, gardening, nature conservation and tea and biscuits. Meet at the allotment plot at Welshmill for the Open Day.

6th June – 2pm:

Crewkerne Carers Group Open House Session, Henhayes Centre, South Street Car Park

Have a chat and a cuppa with other Carers. The person you care for is welcome to come along and watch or join in with our gentle activity session that runs alongside.
Meet Wheelchair specialist Bruno, AJM Healthcare, plus advisors from the Alzheimer’s Society. Learn about wills and power of attorney with Julie Antoniadis of Lasting Powers of Attorney Somerset and hear about the services of Age UK Somerset. Meet the Healthcare co-ordinators from Crewkerne Health Centre too.
Come along and find out more about what we do. No need to book, just turn up.

7th June – 2pm – 4pm:

Pottery throwing workshop for Carers, Hauser and Wirth, Bruton. Click poster to view. Meet at 1.30pm at the Hauser & Wirth, Durslade Farm, Dropping Ln, Bruton BA10 0NL to walk down together as parking is limited in Bruton.  Otherwise meet directly at ‘Make’ in the high street at 2pm – max of 12 people.

Sailability Event, Wimbleball: Wimbleball Lake Brompton Regis, TA22 9NU

Wimbleball Sailing Club is a foundation site of RYA Sailability where a dedicated and enthusiastic group of club members volunteer to help those with disabilities have the experience and enjoyment of going afloat in a sailing boat.

This is a FREE opportunity for Carers and the person they care for to have an exciting day sailing! Free tea, coffee and cakes are provided. Please feel free to bring a picnic lunch with you.  

As long as you have booked, you can come along anytime between 11am and 3pm.

Westhay Reserve wildlife walk with Somerset Wildlife Trust. Free gentle guided wildlife wander through Westhay Reserve for Carers and the person they care for, spotting wildlife and enjoying nature. Booking required – max 8 places. Click poster to view.

Guided Mindfulness Walk for Carers and the person they care for – Coates English Willow, Stoke St Gregory. A guided walk through nature with a calming mindfulness session. Booking required – max 20 people. Meet in the car park on arrival at 10.15am. There are toilets and parking onsite.
