Important Update: Wellington SILC Relocating to Taunton Library
Somerset Independent Living Centres (SILCs) support individuals with long-term health conditions to remain active and independent by providing advice and practical help to find and try equipment, technology or home adaptations that can make life easier.
From 9 June 2025, the Wellington SILC will close, in part, due to the M5 Junction 26 road closure. In its place, a new centre will open at Taunton Library Meeting Room on 29 July 2025.
This move brings several benefits:
- Central location in Taunton town centre
- Improved public access
- Comfortable waiting area and café
- Access to additional library services
During the transition period, clients can continue to access support through an alternative SILC service which could include accessing the other centres in Shepton Mallet and Yeovil.
